Redefining reusable packaging
Encaja sought to redesign their Eco Box, a reusable assembly system, to achieve complete folding capability while extending product lifespan and improving accessibility. The challenge centered on maintaining structural integrity while enabling effortless assembly and disassembly for daily users.
An elastic solution
User journeys and close investigation revealed key pain points with the existing model. Through extensive prototyping and ideation, elastic bands rigid at their ends emerged as the optimal solution, providing assembly comfort while preserving the modular wooden panel system.
This approach earned recognition with the Liderpack Award in the Young Design category at Graphispack and Hispack in September 2023, alongside the Award for Design and Sustainability in Packaging from Clúster de Innovación en Envase y Embalaje in June 2023.
